Girl Scout Cookies now have an app.
Girl Scouts of the USA has just released a special cookie finder app, allowing those craving the delicious cookies to easily access the nearest location where they’re sold.
The Official Girl Scouts of the USA Cookie Finder is a free app available on iTunes that helps users navigate to the nearest place to pick up a box of Thin Mints, Lemonades, Tagalong, Shout Outs, Samoas and the new Savannah Smiles.
Earlier, Savannah Smiles was released to commemorate Girl Scouts’ 100th anniversary—Girl Scouts have been selling cookies since 1917. Other typed of cookies include Samoas; Do-si-dos; Tagalongs; Thank U Berry Much; Lemonades; Dulce de Leche; Thanks-A-Lot; Trefoils; Shout Outs!; and Thin Mints. The new cookie’s name is Savannah Smiles, after Girl Scout founder Juliette Gordon Low’s hometown.
“Celebrate the anniversary of the Girl Scouts with these bite-sized, lemon-wedge cookies dusted in powdered sugar and bursting with lemon flavor,” the cookie’s description on the Girl Scouts’ website reads. “Enjoy these delightful treats, remember where Girl Scouts began…and smile.”
The app will read a user’s location and direct them to the nearest cookie sale. It will sort the locations by date or radius and also allow users to view them on a map.
The app provides cookie sales information around the country, including the start and end of local cookie seasons to specific locations of the sales.
Different features allow users to bookmark upcoming cookie sales, vote for their favorite cookie, check out videos, follow Girl Scouts of USA on their social media sites, and learn everything about the cookies.
