Tennis star Marcos Baghdatis showed his frustration during a recent match, smashing four of his tennis rackets.
It all went down when Baghdatis fell two sets down during his match against Stanislas Wawrinka Wednesday night—The two played each other on Margaret Court Arena.
The Cypriot walked back to his bench and began smashing his racket.
But he didn’t stop there. He then opened his bag, reached inside and took another out and did the same. Baghdatis continued the racket smashing, destroying his two used rackets and two more brand new ones and handing each over to a ballboy before settling down and continuing the heated match.
The tennis player taking out his anger on his rackets proved successful as he made a comeback, taking the third set 7-5. Unfortunately it wasn’t for long as Wawrinka ultimately took home a win: 7-6, 6-4, 5-7, 6-1.
Baghdatis left with a loss, 4 smashed rackets and a fine. The Cypriot was fined $1,250, around $300 a racket, for his outburst.
The incident made its way to the Internet by Thursday and viewers are enjoying the racket smashing incident to say the least— It’s collected over 300,000 views since it was posted earlier.
