In a surprising announcement, Steve Jones, Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul will reportedly not be returning to ‘X Factor.’
The rumors began swirling earlier this year, that the ‘X Factor’ stars would be changing.
It was first rumored that “X Factor” host, Steve Jones was axed from the competition show.
Earlier today, the British host confirmed the news on his Twitter.
“I wont be hosting next seasons XFactor which is a shame but I cant complain as I’ve had a great time. Good luck to everyone on the show,” Jones tweeted.
Reports claim that the split was amicable and follows the outing of another British star on the show. His leaving follows another British ‘X Factor’ star, Cheryl Cole, who was an original host of America’s ‘X Factor.’ Cole had been a judge on the show’s British counterpart and made the move to America for it’s first season. Unfortunately her time didn’t last long, and Cole was canned after only a few episodes.
Following news that Jones would be leaving, more shocking news went public, two ‘X Factor’ judges won’t be returning as well.
E! Online reported that both Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger would not be returning for the second season. E! Online reported, via a source, that Scherzinger “wants to focus on her music career,” and is curently rehearsing for her upcoming European tour that kicks off next month and that “She’s spoken to Simon (Cowell) and he’s given her his blessing.”
The online entertainment news site was also tipped off by a source that Abdul “found out today” and would also be leaving the show. According to EW, Fox has only officially acknowledged the departure of Jones and Scherzinger. Abdul’s fate on the show remains unclear.
