Madonna gave a spectacular halftime show during Sunday night’s Super Bowl even sustaining a slip mid-performance but coming back to wow the crowd and millions of viewers.
She performed old hits like “Like A Prayer” and new hits “Give Me All Your Luvin” alongside guests like Cee Lo Green, LMFAO, Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. Cirque Du Soleil was on hand to help the performance with impressive acrobatics..
Madge kicked off her first Super Bowl performance at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The singer rode in on a throne donning a golden crown and Cleopatra-like costume graced the crowd with “Vogue” for her first performance. The first performance followed by “Music” and “Party Rock Anthem” with the help of LMFAO. Madonna then moved into her newly-released single “Give Me All Your Luvin” with Minaj and M.I.A.
“Give Me All Your Luvin” was followed by “Open Your Heart” and “Express Yourself” with Cee Lo Green. Madge ended her performance with one of her most famous hits, “Like A Prayer,” again with Cee Lo Green, who wowed the crowd with his strong vocals at one point, almost showing up The Material Girl.
But Madge’s performance didn’t go as smoothly as she had hoped with a few bumps in the road.
At one point, MIA flipped the bird during her performance with Madonna. At another point, she suffered a fall during her performance. Madonna stumbled while trying to stand on the bleachers. But the superstar regrouped and got right back up, giving the crowd a stellar performance regardless of her slip.
