Chris Brown must love negative attention. After he received negative backlash for winning a Grammy Award he arrogantly responded via Twitter, “Hate all you want because I got a Grammy,” reports The Huffington Post.
Congratulations Chris Brown, you have done it again. You have ticked off almost everyone.
The controversial R&B singer seemed to virtually sneak under the radar when he made his return back to the Grammy Awards last Sunday, since most people were overwhelmed by the recent passing of pop diva Whitney Houston.
Winning his Grammy on Sunday for best R&B Album also marked three years since the assault of then-girlfriend, pop superstar Rihanna.
However, since humble and quiet isn’t Brown’s style and he more comfortably falls into the categories of brash and obnoxious, it was only a matter of time before he said or did something to turn the public against him again.
Some of Brown’s fans recently joked about domestic violence by openly stating they would not mind being abused by the Grammy winner, some were not pleased with the singer.
Celebrities like Miranda Lambert, Jack Osbourne, Michelle Branch and Eric Stonestreet expressed their discontent after they were confused and disappointed that the Grammys would acknowledge Brown with an award, according to The Huffington Post.
Actor Wil Wheaton may have said it best when he tweeted, “Everyone who apparently forgot what Chris Brown did to Rhianna should read the police report on exactly what he did.”
Brown did not take kindly to the negative tweets and responded, “HATE ALL U WANT BECUZ I GOT A GRAMMY. Now! That’s the ultimate FUCK OFF.”
Brown eventually deleted the tweet after he cooled down. He must have realized it was not the best idea to appear so arrogant after the music industry had just honored him with an award.
Unfortunately for the singer, Mashable editor Christina Warren took a screen shot of the offensive tweet.
