Jennifer Williams and Evelyn Lozada of “Basketball Wives” got into a heated exchange on the premiere episode of the show Monday night.
The show kicked off at 8 p.m. EST on VH1 and the topic of the night was the surprising beef between the two stars.
As seen on the season finale last season, Evelyn felt slighted by Jennifer over a radio interview in which Jennifer commented on Evelyn’s love life.
Evelyn took the interview to heart and has had a bad taste in her mouth ever since, clearly. This time though, the reason for the rift in their friendship was over a blog post, one that Jennifer claimed her publicist wrote.
It was Tami’s bright idea, or the producers’, to bring the two together for a sit down in the hopes that they would work things out, or get into a entertaining exchange that would bring great ratings to the show like it has in the past.
The beef turned into a war of words and at one point things almost got physical as Evelyn was seen saying “Tone it down,” and “I’m gonna punch you in your m************ face.” Jennifer, typically never the main participant in feuds, takes center stage and expressed her feelings on the issue at one point, saying, “If you had an issue with me, I would have preferred you come talk to me than discuss it with everybody else,” reported Huffington Post.
Unfortunately things didn’t go as planned, or did they? The two stayed at odds, and forgiveness from Lozada now seems unlikely in the near future even. Looks like there’s more drama to come on the news “Basketball Wives” season.
Besides fighting, the episode introduced viewers to two new faces, Kenya Bell, an aspiring singer and Kesha Nichols, a dancer.
