About 39.3 million Americans tuned in to watch the Oscars ceremony on Sunday, viewer ratings were up from last year. 37.6 million tuned in to watch the ceremony in 2011, according to preliminary ratings data.
As stated by Broadcaster ABC, this year’s Academy Awards was the second largest TV audience for the Oscar ceremony since 2007.
The actress had recently been getting some flack for wearing “matronly” gowns while promoting her film “The Land of Milk and Honey” but after her black, velvet Atelier Versace gown at the Oscars, her critics cannot describe her style as anything but hot. Angie was back to her sexy, lolita form, stealing some of the spotlight from her partner, Brad Pit, nominated for Best Actor for his role in “Money Ball.”
“The Artist” was the main winner of the show on Sunday, being recognized with five Oscars including best director, best actor for Frenchman Jean Dujardin and the most coveted award for best film. However, not too many people were pleased with “The Artist” taking the main awards since they had not seen the movie; it only made about $30 million at the North American box office.
The Academy Award winning actress, whom almost everyone watching the Oscar ceremony was familiar with, became even more familiar with her right leg after the show.
Angelina Jolie sparked interest among the internet when social media got a load of her right leg that was slipping out of her thigh-high slit dress as she presented an award.
Minutes after her presentation for Best Screenplay and Adapted Screenplay, a Twitter account was set up with the name “angiesrightleg.” As of Tuesday it had over 30,000 followers.
The leg has tweeted,”I’m a leg, get a load of me!” and “You have to admit I’m one hell of a leg!”
