Jimmy Kimmel went all out this year for his post-Oscars show on Jimmy Kimmel Live this year after the Academy Awards.
About 39.3 million Americans tuned in to watch the Oscars ceremony on Sunday and Jimmy Kimmel made sure he made every one of those viewers who decided to watch his post-Oscar show got a good laugh.
This year was special for Kimmel since he was able to premiere the trailer for his movie which he jokes around as if it is actually going to come out. It is simply titled, Movie: The Movie.
Think of all the major actors and actresses you know in Hollywood, they’re probably all in this trailer. Not to mention some of them were the Academy Award winners and nominees.
So we know that Movie: The Movie is not really coming out in theaters and we know the trailer just a spoof, but even though there are no plans for it to actually turn into an actual movie, maybe Kimmel is onto something.
He doesn’t have just any old actors participating in the spoof, Kimmel somehow managed to assemble Meryl Streep, who was rocking a mustache and Tom Hanks who was playing an odd kind of lawyer. Just as an added fun fact in case you didn’t know, Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks have five Oscar wins between the two of them.
The best part of the entire spoof is when Matt Damon emerges in a grape suit. It is a hysterical moment when he realizes that he has been cut from the Movie: The Movie.
It is good to know that not all actors take themselves too seriously, no matter how many times the have been acknowledged at award ceremonies.
