Picture 11“Is there any other word that you can use to describe me,” complains Danica Patrick about being constantly referred to as sexy during an interview February 20.

One Fox reporter found a word to describe her. “Oh, I’ve got a few words. It starts with a ‘B’ and it’s not ‘Beautiful,'” he says.

The sports reporter, Ross Shimabuku is getting a lot of heat today as a video of the controversial comment has gone viral.

Shimabuku was reporting during a segment Tuesday regarding Patrick and her Sprint Cup debut in the Daytona 500 when he dropped the line on KSWB Fox5 San Diego. He calls the female NASCAR driver out for complaining about women athletes being called sexy.

The comment later got the reporter suspended. Fox 5 tweeted Tuesday that the reporter had been suspended without pay for a week for the comment. As Huffington Post reports, Shimabuku has since apologized.

Thursday, Danica Patrick, ended her first NASCAR Sprint Cup race with a crash. Her No.10 Stewart-Haas Racing Chevrolet took the violent turn for the worst in the final lap of the first Gatorade Duel qualifying race.

Driver Aric Almirola knocked Patrick, who was sent spinning and eventually slammed into a wall. Patrick walked away from the crash unharmed but it cost her starting positions for Sunday’s Daytona 500. She had to start Sunday’s race from the back of the field.
