Picture 19It’s down to the final 13 contestants on the hit Fox show American Idol.

It was petite American Idol contestant Jessica Sanchez, who wowed the audience and judges on last night’s episode, “guys vs. girls” performance round.

Wearing a long blue gown, the 16-year-old singer took the stage and belted out the famous lyrics of late singer Whitney Houston.

“I hope life treats you kind,” Sanchez softly sang. “And I hope you have all you’ve dreamed of.”

But it was the chorus that went over best with the crowd, who gave her a standing ovation as she finished the song singing “And I will always love you.”

The judges too, were impressed to say the least. “Jessica Sanchez is legit,” said American Idol judge, Randy Jackson. “I think you’re one of the best singers in this whole competition.”

“This is one of the best talents in the whole country,” he raved.

Jennifer Lopez, another judge on American Idol, agreed and teared up as she described the performance,”Just, just amazing.”

“I don’t even know what to say, I’m speechless,” she went on and ended with, “It was beautiful Jessica, God bless you.”

One of the most outspoken judges, Steven Tyler, told Sanchez, “You may be the one.” Tyler went on, “You just made 40 million people cry.”

Other contestants took the stage like Erika Van Pelt, who performed “I Believe In You And Me,” and Phillip Phillips who performed “Superstition.” Jermaine Jones peformed “Knocks Me Off My Feet” while Jeremy Rosado took on “Ribbon In The Sky.”

A video of Sanchez’s performance has been spreading like wildfire across the Internet since being posted after the episode’s close. Check it out below. What did you think of the performance?
