Picture 181“Dancing With The Stars” contestant Maria Menounos proved to be quite the fighter during a recent episode of the hit show when she performed with two broken ribs.

Monday, the “Extra” host managed to put on a stellar performance with professional dancing partner Derek Hough, even though she had suffered two broken ribs during an earlier rehearsal.

“I kept saying, ‘We are not talking about this! We are dancing,'” Menounos told Us Weekly. “‘I am having the best time of my life and I need to power through.'”

The two took the floor performing a quickstep as Bonnie and Clyde and did nothing short of impress the three judges.

“It was near perfection,” raved judge Bruno Tonioli, who kissed Menounos on the cheek after her performance. “It was nearly spotless.”

“Talk about change, from last week to this week, huge improvement,” noted Carrie Ann Inaba, to which Len Goodman agreed and said “After last week, this is an improvement.”

The performance by the 33-year-old and her partner proved successful and they ultimately tied for second place with dancing pro Cheryl Burke and celebrity William Levy, who also performed a quickstep.

The two duos fell behind celebrity Katherine Jenkins and partner Mark Ballas, who performed the jive, and celebrity Roshon Fegan and partner Chelsie Hightower, who performed the quickstep. The couples both tied for first place Monday night.

But viewers and judges can expect to see more from Menounos, maybe even coming in as the highest scoring couple next week, as she’s on her way to a full recovery. Menounos told the magazine, “The doctors said they can feel the bone growing and it’s a good sign” and noted “The doctor told me to rest but I said there is no way I can quit.”

Check it out. How do you think they did?
