Fans of the Louisiana vampire series are waiting patiently for its return this summer. Until then, HBO wants you to reflect on the past.
The fifth season of True Blood is set to return to televisions in June, and amping up excitement, HBO has released a trio of teasers. Each teaser refers back to a specific place and its history.
In Echoes Of The Past: Sookie’s House, viewers are taken back to Sookie’s (played by Anna Paquin) house where they relive what happened in previous seasons. The teaser ends with the line “You cant escape your past” as do all of the trailers.
In Echoes Of The Past: Fangtasia, in the teaser, viewers relive what has happened in previous seasons at the fang bar. Viewers are taken back to the famous vampire bar where the world first met hunky vampire sheriff Eric Northman, played by Alexander Skarsgard.
In Echoes Of The Past: Bill’s House, viewers are taken back to Sookie’s first vampire love’s home, where Bill (played by Stephen Moyer) lives underground and in the most recent season, carries out his royal duties.
The series first aired in 2009 on HBO as the product of Alan Ball. It follows telepathic waitress Sookie Stackhouse who first finds herself in love with a vampire named Bill Compton and is based on The Southern Vampire Mysteries series by Charlaine Harris.
For those who aren’t all caught up, last season was based loosely on Harris’ fourth novel Dead to the World, and centers around a witch named Marnie, who becomes possessed by Antonia a powerful necromancer. The season follows Sookie as she tries to stop Marnie wiping out all vampires.
In the fourth season, Sookie is no longer with Bill, who becomes the King of Louisiana, instead she and Eric become romantically involved. As always, the series ended in cliffhanger with the finale, in which Russell Edgington (played by Denis O’Hare) escapes and Tara Thornton (played by Rutina Wesley) gets shot.
