Steve Carel’s “40-Year-Old Virgin” character is going to need to make room for the real life 70-year-old virgin.
Pam Shaw is a cabaret singer known as “The Sexational Pam.” She’s probably not the only 70-year-old virgin, but what is grabbing everyone’s attention is that in her twilight years, Pam is ready to lose her virginity, UK’s The Sun reports.
So what took Shaw so long? She explained to the newspaper she has not lost her v-card because she was waiting for marriage. Unfortunately for Shaw, 70 years later Mr. Right never came into her life, but she revealed that one man came pretty close.
“In 1976 I was proposed to by an oil rig worker in Blackpool,” she told The Sun. “I said yes but later broke it off when I realized I didn’t fancy him.”
The sensual cabaret singer has been performing for over 50 years, and her virginity has not resulted from a lack of suitors.
“Men saw the outfits I wore on stage and thought I would be easy,” she was quoted as saying. “But I’ve never really been intimate with a man, just a bit of kissing. I had a sexy stage name and dressed sexy but that was all for my career.”
All types of men have been interested in Shaw, whether it was every day working guys such as the oil rig worker, to stars like Tom Jones and Englebert Humperdinck. It was always easy for Shaw to lure men in, but the sparks never ignited.
She explains, “I feel I am ready to give marriage a go and maybe go to bed with a man. You are never too old for anything. Just look at Joan Collins.”
