Fanger fans rejoice: True Blood is back for the summer and unfortunately so is Russell Edgington.  The 3,000-year-old evil vampire has apparently made a return from his concrete grave and is looking for blood.

“I want to gorge on human blood because I like it,” said Russell in one trailer that aired previously.

In previous seasons, Russell, played by Denis O’Hare, was covered in concrete by vampires Eric Northman, played by Alexander Skarsgard and the vampire king of Louisiana, Bill Compton, played by Stephen Moyer.

The premiere episode aired Sunday and brought back Tara, played by Rutina Wesley, who had also faced certain death in previous seasons. She was shot by Debbie the werewolf, last season and was turned into a fanger Sunday. After slowly succumbing to the gunshot wound, Sookie, played by anna Paquin and Lafayette, played by Nelsan Ellis, asked vampire Pam, played by Kristen Bauer van Straten, to turn Tara into a vampire.

Sunday night, viewers got to meet Eric’s sister, Nora Gainsborough, played by Lucy Griffiths, who reportedly takes part in an incestual relationship with her brother.

Other favored characters made a return to television sets Sunday including Sam Merlotte, played by Sam Trammell, and Sookie’s brother and shapeshifter Jason, played by Ryan Kwanten, who both have gotten into trouble once again this season.

Merlotte is almost killed by a pack of werewolves who are in search of their pack’s master, Marcus, who was killed last season by fellow werewolf, Alcide, played by Joe Manganiello. The pack believes Merlotte is behind the murder but ultimately, Alcide admits that he was the one who killed Marcus. Jason finds himself a wanted man and has to battle the sexual advances of Reverend Newlin, played by Michael McMillian.

Viewers have yet to meet new head of The Authority, ancient vampire Roman, played by Christopher Meloni and see the return Russell Edgington.
