Courteney Cox and David Arquette are officially calling it quits.
Arquette legally filed for divorce and sent Courteney the papers the day before he left for Israel to “become a man” and get Bar Mitzvah’d, TMZ reported.
The two first met on the set of “Scream” in 1995 and started an intimate relationship soon after. They dated for a few years before marrying on June 12, 1999. They also have a daughter together, Coco, who is eight years old.
But just because Arquette doesn’t want to be in a legal relationship with Cox anymore doesn’t mean she’s going to sit home and cry about it.
TMZ spotted the Friends star out to dinner at Nobu in Malibu with her daughter and one of her friends. The crew may have been dining out to celebrate Coco’s eighth birthday.
When a paparazzo mentioned that David had filed for divorce her reply was drenched with cynicism and sarcasm, “He diiiiid? Oh my god, I didn’t know.”
They first announced that they were planning on splitting in October of 2010 saying they wanted to be “best friends” and raise their daughter together. They said in a joint statement, “The reason for this separation is to better understand ourselves and the qualities we need in a partner and for our marriage.”
Though David later wanted to get back with Courteney when they were on Howard Stern’s radio show, but she insisted that it just wouldn’t work.
It’s not like she didn’t know the end was coming.
