Evening With Medium Josephine Ghiringhelli

The Ladies Auxiliary to the Wantagh Fire Department present an evening with renowned psychic medium Josephine Ghiringhelli from WMJC Radio 94.3. Show begins at 8 p.m. at the Wantagh Fire Department Station 1, 3470 Park Ave., Wantagh. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. Cost is $35 per person and includes coffee, tea, soda, and dessert served before and after the show. Advance sales only. Blood Drive

Parkway Community Church, 95 Stewart Ave., in Hicksville, is holding a blood drive for Long Island Blood Services from 9:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. All donors will receive a free small pumpkin. Must bring ID. Ages 17 to 75 (16 with parental consent, 76+ with doctor’s consent). Call the church office at 516-938-1233 to schedule a time. Walk-ins are welcome. Annual Walk For Epilepsy

The Epilepsy Foundation of Long Island sponsored by B.FIT, will hold its Annual Walk for Epilepsy from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Eisenhower Park, Field 6/6A, East Meadow. Registration fee is $25 before Oct. 13 and $30 on the day of the event (children under 12 are free). Register at www.efli.org. Late registrations will be accepted on the day of the walk from 9 to 10 a.m. Donations will also be accepted at this time. The walk begins at 10 a.m. ending approximately at 11 a.m., followed by a concert with music provided by “The Vinyl Plane,” and others. Yard Sale

The Wantagh Preservation Society will be holding a yard sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (rain date Oct. 14). Vendors are needed. Cost is $35 for a space that includes car. The Levittown Chamber of Commerce is holding its Annual Business to Community Expo from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Levittown Veterans Memorial Park (on Hempstead Turnpike, in front of the library).

Bird Walk At Tackapausha Museum and Preserve

The South Shore Audubon Society bird walk will take place from 9:30 a.m. to noon at Tackapausha Museum and Preserve in Seaford. All are welcome. Walk leaders and other birders and nature enthusiasts will be happy to share their knowledge and experience with you. The bird walk is free of charge. Bring binoculars. The Tackapausha Museum and Preserve is located on Washington Ave., between Merrick Rd. and Sunrise Hwy in Seaford. Rain will cancel the bird walk. Division Avenue High School Marching Band Show

The Division Avenue High School Marching Band will perform their first New York State Field Band Conference Home Show Competition since 2008 at the high school’s football field. The show, featuring some of the best high school bands in the area is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. There will be basket raffles, a 50/50, and plenty of food. Admission is $6. All money raised goes to support the students and this program.

CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorders) of Nassau County will hold its monthly educational forum and support group at the East Meadow Jewish Center, 1400 Prospect Ave., East Meadow. Flu Shots

Assemblyman Tom McKevitt in conjunction with the East Meadow Public Library and Nassau University Medical Center, will be holding a flu shot program for senior citizens 60 and over and spouses. The program, for which there is no out-of-pocket expense to the senior, will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the East Meadow Public Library, 1886 Front St. Registration is required. Call 516-739-5119, weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments are on a first-come, first-served basis. Those with allergies to latex are advised to go to their physician or Nassau University Medical Center to receive their flu shot. Pneumonia shots are also available.

Fall Fair

The Wantagh Memorial Congregational Church, 1845 Wantagh Ave., will host a fall fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The fair will be held in Seaman Hall (the white building next to the church) and on the front lawn, with lots of vendors and a pumpkin patch. The pumpkins will be on sale from Oct. 13 to Oct. 31. Admission and parking are free. Blessing of the Animals

Temple B’nai Torah of Wantagh, located at 2900 Jerusalem Ave., will be holding a rain or shine blessing of the animals at 12:30 p.m. The date was picked because the story of Noah is read during the Shabbat service. There will be a short memorial service for those pets that have passed on. There will be a tent on the Oakfield Ave. lawn. Parking is available. Bring your pet on a leash or in a carrier for a special blessing.
