A driver died after crashing a car into a utility pole in Island Park early Sunday morning.
Nassau County police said the driver was alone when the vehicle hit a pole on Long Beach Road shortly before 1 a.m.
The driver, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead an hour later. There were no other reported injuries.
A police spokeswoman said there was no other information about the cause of the crash.
