A person inside a Locust Valley house was killed by a fire that broke out Friday afternoon, Nassau County police said.

A police spokesman said the blaze is being blamed for one fatality, but was unable to provide anymore information.

The spokesman said the fire started just before 1:30 p.m. at a house on 12th Street.
