Laughs At The Library

Friends of the Garden City Public Library will sponsor a free interactive program “Laughs at the Library” on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 2 p.m. at Garden City Public Library located at 60 Seventh St. Come get some comic relief for the winter blues with stand-up comedian Mark Brier as he hosts this humorous program filled with clean rib-tickling jokes, anecdotes & terrific impressions. Brier has been performing for over 30 years & has appeared on cruise ships, resorts, comedy clubs, conventions, and retirement homes. He has engaged audiences in more than 70 New York State libraries. His work includes impressions of entertainers like Jack Benny, Jackie Mason, Rodney Dangerfield & Ed Sullivan. His start in comedy began as a child when his mother told him about their neighbor who loved to garden and had a green thumb. Mark kept waiting for the man to take off his garden gloves to see his green thumb. When his mother laughed about this, Mark knew that he wanted to be a comedian. Bring your favorite G-rated joke to share or just come to smile & enjoy some wholesome humor. Have a great time designed. Seating & parking are limited and on a first-come basis. No tickets are required. Please, no busses. For directions phone 516-742-8405 or visit www.gardencitypl.org.
