A man was arrested for allegedly driving drunk, crashing his SUV and killing his 59-year-old passenger in the suspect’s hometown of Manorville early Wednesday morning, Suffolk County police said.
William Christie lost control of his Jeep as he exited Sunrise Highway eastbound at Exit 59, causing the truck to overturn, at 3:26 a.m., police said.
His passenger, Michael Demartino, also of Manorville, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Christie was charged with driving while intoxicated. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
