Jonathan Roman was charged with the murder of his uncle, who was reported missing on March 1.

A 42-year-old Coram man was charged Friday with the death of his uncle, who police found buried in a wooded area behind his nephew’s house, Nassau County police said.

Johnathan Roman was charged with second-degree murder and will be arraigned Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.

Detectives said 71-year-old John Frankowski of New Hyde Park was reported missing on March 1 by his son who lives in Florida.

During the investigation, missing person detectives discovered that Frankowski and Roman got into an augment that escalated, “causing the death of the victim,” police said. Police did not release a cause of death and nor did they say what sparked the argument.

Nassau homicide detectives along with Suffolk County police’s K-9 unit on Friday found the victim’s body buried in a wooded area behind Roman’s home, police said. Frankowski was pronounced dead at the scene.
