PSEG Poles Reach To Sky

polesWhen they are standing right by each other, it is easy to see the difference between the new, 80-foot poles and the 40-foot poles they are replacing.

The new poles, pictured here along a stretch of East Shore Road in Great Neck, will reportedly provide better, more reliable electric service, partly by virtue of being so high in the air. Their extreme height, however, has raised more than eyebrows, and sparked a great deal of controversy in Port Washington, where many such poles have already been put up, with more to come.

Great Neck, too, is slated to have taller poles going forward.
