Plaza Poetry Contest Winners

poetryVillage of Great Neck Plaza, in association with Long Island Traditions, coordinator Carolyn Raphael and Matt Pasca, this year’s poetry contest judge, is proud to announce the winners of the 2014 Great Neck Plaza Poetry Contest:

First prize, Joan Vullo Obergh for “Keepers of the Night,” Seaford.
Second prize, M.J. Tenerelli for “Brooklyn, 1995,” East Northport.
Third prize, George H. Northrup for “Little Wooden Things,” New Hyde Park.
First honorable mention, Paula Camacho for “There is Something You Need to Know About the Night,” Farmingdale.
Second honorable mention, Gloria G. Murray for “Friends Because…,” Deer Park.
Make sure to come to the Plaza on Sunday, April 27, at 2 p.m, when these poets will be reading their award-winning poems.
The reading is free to the public and is bound to be a great time. Don’t forget to save the date. Refreshments will be served.
