Missing Homeless Woman Found Dead in Shirley

A 25-year-old homeless woman who was reported missing last month was found dead in Shirley over the weekend, but investigators do not suspect foul play, Suffolk County police said.

A family member of Elizabeth Fridenberger had reported her missing on March 15. Police released her photo to the media 10 days later.

The victim, who was known as Beth, was found dead Saturday in a wooded area on Linden Avenue.

Fridenberger had frequented the Mastic/Shirley area, which is where she was last seen.

Investigators determined that her death was non-criminal.
