It’s Time for Tea
The Oyster Bay Historical Society opened its spring exhibition, It’s Time for Tea!, on April 6. It will be on view at the Koenig Center, 20 Summit St., through June 8. It features ceramics by members of the Long Island Craft Guild’s Clay Media Group: both functional and sculptural work relating to tea are for sale. LI Sound Vocal Jazz Ensemble
Recognized internationally for its “swinging rhythm section, tight vocals and smooth blend,” the Long Island Sound Vocal Jazz Ensemble (LISVJ) from LIU Post includes 16 singers, rhythm section and occasional horns. At Christ Church, 61 East Main St., Oyster Bay. Festivities begin at 8 p.m. in the Parish Hall with wine, cheese and an evening of cool jazz. Tickets are $15 at the door. Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary and Audobon Center, 134 Cove Rd, Oyster Bay. Session 1: 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. (toddlers only); Session 2: 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. (kids 2-10); Session 3: 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. (kids 2-10). Members $5 per child, non-members $8 per child, adults $2 suggested donation. The birds are acting odd this year… our feathered friends are laying eggs in all the wrong places. Just be… Yoga at the Library
Tuesdays through May 20 from 7 to 8 p.m. Join the owner of Just Be…Yoga Studio, Kim DeSantis, as she brings her practice of yoga to the Bayville Free Library. The Friends of the Bay, Town of Oyster Bay and the North Oyster Bay Baymen Association are looking for volunteers to help in the annual harbor and beach cleanup on April 26. The North Shore Assembly of God, 84 Orchard St., Oyster Bay is operating a new food pantry for the community. It is meant to supplement the growing needs of the community.
