The Floral Park United Methodist Church will hold its annual spring fair and plant sale on May 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 35 Verbena Ave. Annuals, vegetables, hanging plants, stage deli, craft vendors, and thrift shop will be available. Raffle tickets for a handmade quilt are available.
Children are invited to join a hands-on session in Mothers’ Day Floral Design from 12 p.m.-1 p.m. at Old Westbury Gardens. Work alongside our on-site floral designer to help create an arrangement that Mom, Grandma, or any special lady will be happy to display. Using fresh flowers and modern design techniques, children will enjoy this hands-on program to create a one of a kind gift straight from the heart. For ages 6–10. Registration required. JLCS PTA meeting on Thursday, May 15 at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium. Meet other parents and find out what’s going on at school. Officer Groshans and School Superintendent Opiekun will be the guest speakers. Family Fun Day begins immediately after the races, with live entertainment, bouncing castles, food, games, raffles, face-painting and more. Proceeds benefit the Hance Family Foundation which supports children. Floral Park street closures will be in effect from 9 a.m. to noon.
South Floral Park will host the annual Armed Forces Day Ceremony on Saturday, May 17 at 11 a.m. at 383 Roquette Ave. All active military, veterans and residents are welcome to attend.
