The kitchen of the Milleridge Inn in Jericho sustained fire and water damage when a fire broke out just after midnight on May 14.
Second Precinct officers along with the Jericho Fire Department responded to the Inn for a fire alarm and forced their way into the back kitchen area of the restaurant where the top of a stove had caught fire.
Several neighboring Fire Departments, including East Norwich, Carle Place, Hicksville, Westbury, Plainview, Bethpage and Syosset responded to the scene to assist in extinguishing the fire.
The fire, which was deemed to be non-suspicious, was contained to the kitchen area of the business. The fire caused heavy damage to that area and was declared under control at 1:28 a.m. No injuries were reported.
