We are writing to voice our support for Pat Aitken, the incumbent in the upcoming Manhasset Board of Education election on May 20. Pat possesses the rare combination of leadership skills and demonstrated commitment to community service required to successfully navigate our schools through today’s fiscally challenging waters. Specifically, Pat has many years of experience in risk management, which is essentially weighing the risk and reward inherent in a particular choice or opportunity. She has also provided exemplary service as a member of our School Board for the past nine years.
As much as we may be drawn to the notion that Manhasset represents a refuge from the “real” world, we face the same challenges as other districts to preserve the quality of our schools at a cost the community will support at the ballot box. We respectfully submit that Pat’s intellect, integrity and dedication to public service make her the right choice for our community, and we urge you to vote for her on May 20.
