MacArthur Senior Variety Show

On May 15 and May 16, MacArthur High School seniors will take the stage, from 7-9 p.m., to perform in the school variety show. 

Island Trees High School Concert

Chorus and Orchestra students from Island Trees High School will be performing at 7 p.m., on May 15, inside the Island Trees High School auditorium, at 59 Straight Lane. 

Friday, May 16

Island Trees Senior Citizens Prom

On May 16, senior citizens in the Island Trees school community are invited to boogie on over to the memorial middle school, from 6-9:30 p.m., for the annual senior citizen prom. Admission is $10. Please make checks payable to CAPIT, C/O Linda Rincon, 14 Mallard Rd, Levittown, N.Y., 11756

American Legion Post #1711

The next monthly meeting of the American Legion Post #1711 will be held at 8 p.m., on May 16 at 3123 N. Jerusalem Rd. 

The Superhuman Within You

On May 16, join Donna Martini, wellness coach, author and Nassau County’s Lead Ambassador of Wellness, at 8 p.m. for this lecture on how the state your body is can be helping or hurting your potential to stay in the supernatural. 

 

Come and discover how any existing negative energy within or around ourselves can be manipulated into its most positive form through the physical, mental and emotional
human aspects.

“Doctor Dirty” at Governor’s

On May 17, join comedian John Valby aka “Doctor Dirty” as he performs at Governor’s Comedy Club, located at 90 Division Ave. in Levittown. Doors open at 5 p.m., with the show starting promptly at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25-$55. Admission is for those aged 18 and over.

Ambulance Corps. Open House

In celebration of National Emergency Medical Services week, the Wantagh-Levittown Volunteer Ambulance Corps. will be hosting an Open House on May 18, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Events will include free blood pressure screenings, ambulance tours, Vial of Life kits, membership drive, and so much more. 

 

Children are also invited to bring a teddy bear to the first Teddy Bear Clinic, where they will learn basic first aid.  Additional information available on the volunteer ambulance corps website at www.wlvacems.com.

Island Trees Schools Art Expo

On May 19, art students from Island Trees Memorial Middle School and High School will get the chance to showcase their work, at the Memorial Middle School, at 45 Wantagh Ave. in Levittown, from 7-8:30 p.m. For more details on the art expo call 516-520-2157. 

Gift Card Bingo

Levittown Homemaker’s Day Chapter invites the public to join in for “Gift Card Bingo” on May 19 at 11 a.m. at the VFW Hall Post #9592, at 55 Hickory Lane in Levittown. School Budget / Board Elections

Whether you reside in the Island Trees or Levittown school districts, on May 20, registered voters can cast their ballots on the school budget. Levittown currently proposes a $198.7 million, which comes with a 1.62 increase in the tax levy. Island Trees is proposing a $59.6 million budget, which comes with no tax levy increase this year.

Division Avenue Art Show

On May 21, Division Avenue High School will hold its 14th annual student art show, from 5-8 p.m.

Chamber of Commerce

The next general meeting of the Levittown Chamber of Commerce will be held on May 21, from 6-8 p.m. at Domenico’s Restaurant, located at 3270 Hempstead Tpke. There will also be a presentation of scholarship awards.

PTA Council

The next meeting of the Levittown Public School District PTA Council will be held at 7:30 p.m. on May 22, at the Levittown Memorial Education Center at 150 Abbey Lane in Levittown. 

Memorial Day Weekend Festival 

From May 22-May 26, the Levittown Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Memorial Weekend Festival behind the Tri-County Flea Market on Hempstead Tpke. in Levittown. 

 

There will be food, rides, games and fun for the whole family. 

 

The festival will be open Thursday and Friday from 5-11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday from 12-11 p.m., and Mondays from 12-9 p.m. Parking and admission are free to the public.

Memorial Day Soccer Fest

On May 24, the Island Trees Soceer Club will host its 33rd annual Memorial Day festival. Open to boys and girls intramural teams only, the event features a total of five games that will be played throughout the day. No standings will be kept and no guest players are permitted. Every player who competes in the soccer club’s Memorial Day festival will receive a trophy. 

Thursday, May 22

Narcan Training 

With the abuse of opioids such as oxycodone, hydrocodone and heroin growing at alarming rates, too many people are dying from it. On May 22, learn what to do in case of an overdose and how to administer the life-saving overdose reversal agent called Naloxone.
The event starts at 7 p.m. inside the YES Community Counseling Center, at 152 Center Lane in Levittown.

Knights Of Columbus 

Meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month at the council headquarters, 3581 Jeffries Rd., Levittown, at 8 p.m. The newly renovated meeting hall is also available for party rentals. Call 516-735-1724 for rentals.

Faith On Tap

The object of “Faith on Tap” is to address concerns of people in their 20s and 30s on issues of faith and morals, which have an impact on the lives of individuals, families, local communities and society at large. 7 to 9 p.m. on the last Monday of the month at the Wantagh Inn, across the street from the Wantagh railroad station. Overeaters Anonymous

OA meets every Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 474 Wantagh Ave., Levittown. A 12-step group for compulsive eaters. Call 516-794-1333.
