ISWEEEP is an International Science Competition in the categories of Environmental Science, Energy and Engineering. Nearly 600 students joined in this seventh annual week -long competition held in Houston, Texas.
Manhasset Science Research students Kevin Tong and Albert Kim earned top honors. Kim, a senior, won first place overall in the Environmental Category of the competition. As a result of his winning the Grand Award in the Environmental Category, Kim will be attending the Stockholm International Youth Science Seminar (SIYSS), which includes attendance at the Nobel Prize ceremonies in Stockholm, Sweden in September 2014. Tong, also a senior, placed second overall in the category of Environmental Science—an outstanding achievement.
There were 385 highly qualified projects from 66 different countries displayed at the George R. Brown Convention Center, Houston, Texas. Participants met with competitors from different parts of the world and shared the commitment to find solutions to global problems.
