North Babylon Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash

Suffolk County police are investigating the death of a 31-year-old motorcyclist who was killed in a crash Friday in Stony Brook, police said.

Thomas Macca of North Babylon was driving a 2002 Harley Davidson northbound on Nicolls Road near Stony Brook University when he apparently lost control and crashed into a wire cable on the center median around 6:10 p.m., police said.

Police said Macca died of his injuries after being transported to Stony Brook University Hospital.

The motorcycle was impounded for a safety check. Any witnesses are asked to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
