On Aug. 22, the Jericho Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire on Maytime Dr. Arriving units found heavy smoke showing and a fire inside the home. All of the occupants were able to get out of the house and fire fighters rescued the family pet Rabbit.

The Westbury, Syosset and Hicksville Fire Departments were also called to the scene while the East Norwich and Roslyn Fire Departments stood by in Jericho’s Station 1 to protect the Fire District in case of other alarms. Chief of the Department Carl Johnson was in command of the operation.
