DrewKeil_092614ADrew Keil, who was cast opposite soap opera star Susan Lucci of All My Children will teach a drama workshop for the newly created North Hempstead Theatre Company create by the Town of North Hempstead and the Parks Department.  The drama workshop is designed for children ages 7 to 12 and requires no background experience to enroll.

The program is designed to empower children with confidence, self-esteem and leadership  and teamwork skills.  Enrollees will discover the joy of acting and will be able to use these learned skills in future endeavors, all while having fun.  The program will culminate with a final in-house performance.

Keil resume also includes the Broadway Production of “Sly Fox” with George C. Scott and Jeffrey Tambor. He has worked in both community theatre productions and regional theatre throughout the country and is currently the co-artistic director of an on-campus theatre group at Hofstra University where he has acted and directed for over 20 years.

The workshop will be held on Tuesdays at 4 o’clock from Nov. 11 to Dec. 16 on the second floor of the Aquatic Activity Center at Michael J. Tully Park in New Hyde Park.

Those interested in enrolling must be a resident of North Hempstead and can sign up at the Michael J. Tully Park facility. The cost will be $70 per student and includes a North Hempstead Theatre Company t-shirt.
