Suffolk County police are investigating the death of a Queens man who fell off a roof in Farmingdale Saturday morning.
Police said 57-year-old Lech Chrostowski was working on a roof at 465 Smith Street when he fell approximately 20 feet to the ground.
Chrostowski was pronounced dead at St. Josephs Hospital in Bethpage, police said.
An autopsy will be conducted by the Nassau County Medical Examiner’s office to determine the cause of death, police said. A police spokeswoman was not available to explain why the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s office was not handling the autopsy.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was notified, police said.
