Last week, three star New York Mets players, Dillon Gee, Daniel Murphy and Lucas Duda, took time from the rigors of the regular season to visit the Albertson-based Henry Viscardi School.
The three Mets played whiffle ball with the students, who, as always, were delighted to have big leaguers visit their school and to receive tips from men who are starring in the greatest baseball league in the world.
The Met players, for their part, participated in the same wheel chairs that many of the students use. They taught the children how much fun exercise is, especially when it involves The National Pastime.
