Obituary: Kathleen Springer

Kathleen Springer of Stewart Manor (previously Kathleen Alexander), who grew up in neighboring Garden City, a beloved teacher at Hillside Grade School in New Hyde Park for 39 years, died on Aug. 8 after a six-year battle against ovarian cancer. Beloved daughter of the late George and Gloria (Logan) Springer. Cherished sister of William (Pamela), Kenneth, Marianne (Joseph) Judge, Carole, Jeanine, Patrick (Sunny) and the late George Jr. Loving aunt of many nieces and nephews. Also survived by dozens of cousins, friends and acquaintances. Funeral mass was held at St. Anne’s Church in Garden City. The family requests donations be made to: St. Anne’s Ministry Fund or the Institute of Cancer Care at Winthrop University Hospital.
