It’s time for a property taxpayer’s checkup Come to the Garden City Public Library and hear Town of Hempstead Receiver of Taxes Donald X. Clavin, Jr. speak about important issues related to taxes. On Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 2 p.m, Mr. Clavin will discuss such important issues as tax exemptions (seniors, enhanced star, basic star, veterans, and home-improvement), tax discounts, property tax payment dates, and tax payment options. Clavin will give residents an opportunity to ask questions and address any taxpayer concerns that they may have.
Thursday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m.
Clavin will return to the library on Thursday, Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. to discuss how to challenge your property tax assessment which could result in reducing your taxes. Again, Clavin will give residents an opportunity to ask questions and address any taxpayer concerns that they may have. Both of these programs are open to all and registration is not required.
