Voices Against Brain Cancer, is set to host its annual Join The Voices! Long Island Run for Rob Run and Walk on Sunday, Oct. 19 at Eisenhower Park at 9 a.m. Check-in is at 8 a.m.
Run for Rob is a 5K run or walk dedicated to the memory of Dr. Robert Bernstein, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who lost his battle to brain cancer in 2010. The Bernstein family is dedicated to finding a cure for this devastating disease. The event, which will be hosted by Jill Martin, Sportscaster for the New York Kicks and NBC Reporter, will include a family friendly morning consisting of a 5K Run, 5K walk, Kid’s Races, Entertainment, and an award ceremony. VABC also acknowledges individuals who have shown tremendous strength in either their battle against brain cancer, supporting a loved one who has battled brain cancer, or is making strides towards finding a cure.
Participants are encouraged to help raise funds for Voices Against Brain Cancer and promote the organization’s mission to find a cure for brain cancer and brain tumors by advancing scientific research, increasing awareness within the medical community and supporting patients, their families and caregivers afflicted with this devastating disease. Funds raised will go towards the advancement of brain cancer research and support, signaling greater hope for those impacted by brain cancer.
