A special series of medical lectures will be held throughout the country in October. The Plainview Hospital is one of the stops on the tour.
On Sunday, Oct. 19 from 7-9 p.m., a free lecture will be presented by Franz Gringinger, MD, Austria and A.W. Arends, MD, Germany. These specialists are members of the Medical Scientific Group (MWF), a part of the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends.
Dr. Gringinger earned his degree at the University of Vienna in 1987 and from the beginning of his medical career, was interested in alternative methods.
“I was intrigued by acupuncture, homoeopathy, chiropractic therapy, osteopathy and applied kinesiology,” said Dr. Gringinger. “In 1995, I read “Revolution in Medicine” by Dr. Kamp, a colleague from Hamburg, Germany. I was fascinated by the content, which described a special kind of spiritual healing; if that was true, it literally would be a revolution in medicine. My interest was piqued.”
After having read the book, Dr. Gringinger got in touch with a woman from the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends and scheduled an appointment to attend an introductory talk.
“At the time, I was suffering from hay fever for eighteen years; every year from May until the middle of July, I had terrible symptoms.” said Dr. Gringinger, who felt unwell on the day of the phone call, which lasted less than half a minute to simply confirm the date of the appointment. “After the call, all of my awful symptoms suddenly disappeared. I was happy, but could not explain how it happened.”
The teachings of Bruno Groening (1906-1959), who became well known in the 50s due to extraordinary healings, are the basis for the lectures that Gringinger and his colleague will be giving. Groening said time and again, “There is no incurable – God is the greatest physician.” He spoke about a higher power that he called ‘the healing stream.’ This power is available for everyone, and the knowledge of how to benefit from this power is given freely to individuals through the worldwide, non-profit, volunteer-based organization of the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends.
“Bruno Groening always wanted to cooperate with physicians and teach them how they could best help their patients,” said Dr. Gringinger. “He always said that conventional medicine is good and necessary, but the cooperation of both approaches would be better.”
Dr. Gringinger also explained that modern western medicine is based on the influence of material means, such as the use of medication, surgery, and physical therapies. Spiritual healing on the other hand, according to Dr. Gringinger, is about the influence of matter by a spiritual force.
Guests who attend the lecture will learn more about modern versus spiritual healing, as well as hear more accounts from both physicians about their experiences.
The lecture is free and open to the public, but donations are always appreciated. For more information on the event, please call 212-714-5379. For more information on the Bruno Groening Circle of Friends, visit www.bruno-groening.org. Plainview Hospital is located at 888 Old Country Road, Plainview.
