James Sokol and Jake Leeds from Boy Scout Troop 298 recently completed their service projects.
Sokol and fellow Scouts replaced the backboards, rims and nets in the basketball court in Nuzzi Park. They also trimmed trees and repainted the court lines.
Leeds, along with some of those same Scouts scrapped and painted the police booth near the New Hyde Park Long Island Rail Road Station. They also straightened the flag pole and replaced the American Flag.
These service projects, combined with other requirements, advance both of these Scouts to the rank of Life Scout.
