More than just
local government is being held at 200 Plandome Road these days. The movie and cast of Freeheld are filming on site. The movie stars including actor Steve Carell, Julianne Moore, Ellen Page, and Luke Grimes have been seen in and around the streets of Manhasset.
The movie based on a 2007 documentary depicts a New Jersey car mechanic Stacie Andree (played by Ellen Page) and her police detective girlfriend Laurel Hester (Julianne Moore) both battle to secure Hester’s pension benefits after she was diagnosed with a terminal illness.
According to sources within Town Hall, the court scene is being filmed in the boardroom which has been transformed into the Ocean City, New Jersey court room.
Trucks are parked behind Mary Jane Davies Park and food trucks were seen at the Baptist Church on Plandome Road.
The filming is scheduled to wrap up in Manhasset by this Friday, Nov. 7.
