National Catholic Schools Week

The week of Sunday, Jan. 25 through Saturday, Jan. 31 has been declared nationally as Catholic Schools Week. Floral Park Village Mayor Thomas Tweedy has released the following proclamation:

“Whereas, the week of January 25 through January 31, 2015 has been declared National Catholic Schools Week and is celebrated by our nation, state and village with the theme “Catholic schools: communities of faith, knowledge and service”; and

“Whereas, Our Lady Of Victory School has been deeply committed in educating our children for 85 years and continues preparing them for adult life in the Catholic tradition; and

“Whereas, the dedication and integrity of Our Lady of Victory’s teachers and staff who, day by day, teach and reap one of the finest rewards in watching their students grow both spiritually and academically; and

“Whereas, it is the commitment of the parents who give selflessly of their time, their talents and vision to help make Our Lady Of Victory an ‘A+’ school.

“Now, therefore, I, Thomas J. Tweedy, by virtue of the authority vested in me as mayor, do hereby proclaim January 25 through January 31, 2015 as National Catholic Schools Week in the Incorporated Village of Floral Park in recognition of the devotion and dedication with which Our Lady of Victory School has served our community.”
