Homecoming_091914AAfter losing a road game to Hewlett, the Roslyn High School Bulldogs basketball team bounced back with high-powered wins over Glen Cove and Division. As of press time, the Bulldogs are 10-4 overall and 5-2 in conference play as they continue to improve as the playoffs approach. 

Roslyn began the week with an exciting 85-81 overtime win over Glen Cove.

Roslyn’s high-flying offense was again on display as four Bulldogs scored in double-digits. Senior Noah Nardone led the way with 25 points, followed by Keandre Augustine (20), Matt Kramer (17) and Marc Shulman (12).

The game was tied at the end of the first quarter, 18-18. In the second frame, Glen Cove surged ahead to a 41-35 advantage. The second half and overtime, however, belonged to Roslyn. The Bulldogs outscored Glen Cove in the third quarter to come within one point. In the fourth quarter, it was Glen Cove’s turn to come from behind and tie with game with two seconds left in regulation.

In overtime, Roslyn took over, outscoring Glen Cove, 12-8 to win the game. The deciding blow came on a three-pointer by Matt Kramer, one that gave Roslyn a commanding 81-76 win.

On Friday, Jan. 30, the Bulldogs again cracked the 80-point barrier, this time in an easy 83-45 home win over Division High School.

And once again, the scoring was balanced with four Bulldogs in double digits and all 13 players getting on the scorer’s sheet. Nardone, Augustine and Thomas Davis all had 11 points, while Matt Kramer chipped in with 10 points. Nardone also had 8 rebounds, while Davis had 8 assists.
