Lower and lower oil prices are the plan of Saudi Arabia and OPEC. At the same time, the United States is fracking and drilling for oil and gas anywhere it can without regard to the environment. Its only goal is oil independence. Achieved! But the Saudis are smarter. They are saving grace.
OPEC is investing in renewables. In the Mid-East they are building wind and solar alternatives to energy. They are producing permanent jobs while our fossil fuel ones peter out as prices drop. The loser is the United States, except for the corporations and their fossil fuel investors. The winners are those nations that are creating an energy future based on renewables while we continue to drag our feet.
