Parrino: A Trashion Expert

Mineola Middle School sixth-grader Jillian Parrino received honorable mention commendation in the recent Town of North Hempstead Trashion Show. 

For the show, Parrino had to create an entire outfit out of recycled items and wear it while walking down a runway. Set to the theme of “Calling the 1990s,” Parrino created a dress out of the yellow pages, used old phone cords as fashion accessories and transformed old denim into a handbag.
