The East Williston Fire Department will be holding a drill at 437 Roslyn Rd. on Thursday, April 16 at 7 p.m. Fire hydrants will be used during the drill and residents may experience rusty water during and after the event.
Village officials say if you experience rusty water, run the cold water in the lowest part of your house (a basement sink or first floor bathtub) until the water runs clear. Do not use the hot water until water is clear.
“We apologize for any inconvenience the drill may cause but this exercise is necessary for training of our volunteer firemen in the event of a future emergency,” the fire department said in a statement.
