A 25-year-old Lindenhurst man was killed and his female passenger was injured early Saturday morning when the man lost control of the car and crashed, Suffolk County police said.
The man was driving a 2001 Honda CRV west on Union Boulevard in Brightwaters just before 2 a.m., police said, when the vehicle struck a median, causing it to leave the roadway and slam into a utility pole and a tree.

Police are withholding the driver’s name pending notification of next of kin.
