Celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the legendary Peter’s Clam Bar on Thursday, May 14. The famous Clam Bar is a South Shore institution that was built in 1939 and opened in the Summer of 1940. The ceremony will take place on tomorrow, May 14 at 11 a.m.
Peter’s Clam Bar has survived many hurricanes through the years including heavy damage during SuperStorm Sandy in which it was four feet under water. Local community groups, chamber members and residents will join the festivities along with musicians dressed in periodic attire singing swing music of the 1940’s. In addition, Peter’s will be rolling back prices during lunch from the original menu of seven decades ago with 10 cent coffee and a dollar for a dozen clams.
Peter’s Clam Bar is located at 600 Long Beach Rd. in Island Park.
