On Sunday, May 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Friendship Circle will host The Walk 4 Friendship.
The 2.5K walk-a-thon is held to raise funds for the programs and services offered by the Friendship Circle, while promoting awareness and acceptance of children, teens and young adults with special needs. Upon reaching the finish line, walkers will enjoy a post-walk celebration and carnival, with exciting rides, entertainment, activities, BBQ food and more.
After registration and an opening ceremony, the walk will begin at 11 a.m. at the Chabad Synagogue, 75 Powerhouse Rd., Roslyn Heights and finish at The Roslyn Pines Pool & Tennis Club, 50 Pool Dr., Roslyn.
The community carnival will also take place at the Roslyn Pines Pool & Tennis Club from noon to 2 p.m.
Parking is conveniently located adjacent to Chabad in the garage at 66 Powerhouse Rd. Buses will be available during and at the end of the carnival for return to the parking garage. There is an $18 donation to join us for our walk by advance registration online or $25, on the day of the event. Online registration closes on Friday, May 15.
Registration includes a walk T-shirt, all entertainment and an unlimited ride bracelet at the carnival. Food will be sold separately.
The fundraiser generally welcomes over 500 people to join in solidarity to benefit an organization that brings friendship, joy and respite to children with special needs and their families. The Friendship Circle is looking for similar success this year.
