East Hills resident Barbara Kaplan, founder of the annual Over 50 Fair, has launched two new Facebook groups to help Long Island adults over 50 stay current with information and events of interest to them.
Health & Wellness – Over 50 on Long Island, focuses on health and wellness. Its address is: www.facebook.com/groups/HealthWellnessOver50LI .
The other facebook, Long Island Baby Boomers & Seniors, contains broader subjects for those two age groups. It can be reached at: www.facebook.com/groups/LIBabyBoomersAndSeniors.
Kaplan has noted that the last of the Baby Boomers has reached age 50, so the two groups, boomers and seniors, now overlap. Kaplan added that individuals and businesses are especially welcome to join both groups. Businesses may post promotional news about their relevant activities and offerings on both sites every Monday.
Recent posts in the Health and Wellness Group, Kaplan said, include inspirational quotes and an article about a 77 year-old sprinter who holds the record for running.
